(57) [Summary] [Structure] A low-temperature ignitable catalyst composition capable of purifying exhaust gas containing hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide at low temperatures, which is an element having a noble metal and nitrogen dioxide absorbing action. Or a nitrogen dioxide absorbent consisting of its oxide, the combustible component in the exhaust gas and nitrogen dioxide react at a temperature lower than the ignition temperature of the oxidation reaction between the combustible component in the exhaust gas and oxygen, and a part of the exhaust gas A low-temperature ignitable catalyst composition which purifies hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide in exhaust gas by purifying the catalyst composition and its ambient temperature by the heat of reaction. [Effect] It is possible to effectively purify a large amount of HC released at the time of cold start of the engine. |
