Hydrothermal method for the synthesis of fuel alcohols such as methanol |
abstract |
(57) [Summary] Synthesis of alcohols for fuels such as methanol by hydrothermal method [Purpose] To solve global environmental problems, hydrocarbons such as methane and carbon dioxide are used as direct starting materials and near the critical point. Hydrothermal reaction is carried out with water or alkaline water under various hydrothermal conditions to produce a large amount of non-polluting fuel alcohol such as methanol. [Structure] Methane chain hydrogenated compounds such as methane and ethane are replaced with alkyl halides such as methyl chloride with hydrogen halides such as chlorine or hydrogen chloride, and this is replaced with water or water in a subcritical or critical state. A method of synthesizing methanol, ethanol, or fuel alcohols by hydrolyzing alkaline water by hydrothermal action or directly performing hydrothermal action of carbon dioxide in a critical or supercritical state. |
