abstract (57) [Abstract] [Problem] Even if no anti-blocking agent is added, Provided is a production method capable of obtaining a partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer having anti-blocking performance. In a method for producing a partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol polymer, which comprises saponifying a polyvinyl ester polymer by using an alkali or an acid as a saponification catalyst and then neutralizing the alkali or acid to stop the saponification reaction. A method for producing a partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer having blocking resistance, which comprises adding a colloidal solution of silicic acid anhydride to the saponification reaction system.
