(57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To provide a method for treating cataract by drug administration, which has not existed so far, and a drug therefor. SOLUTION: An oligosaccharide having a sugar chain structure of Lewis-X glycolipid is administered to the lens, CMP-sialic acid is administered to the lens, or an inhibitor of the activity of sialic acid-eliminating enzyme sialytase is administered to the lens. By doing so, the adhesion between Lewis-X glycolipids present on the fiber cell surface of the human lens is inhibited, thereby preventing or improving lens opacity due to aging. |
