titleOfInvention Method and apparatus for separating vinyl chloride layer of vinyl chloride wallpaper from base paper
abstract (57) Abstract: To provide a method and an apparatus capable of efficiently separating a vinyl chloride layer of a vinyl chloride wallpaper from a base paper, and further, separating the both so as to reduce mutual mixing. SOLUTION: The vinyl chloride layer is swollen by immersing the vinyl chloride wallpaper in an organic solvent that swells without dissolving vinyl chloride. Then, the swollen vinyl chloride layer is mechanically scraped from the base paper using a brush roll or a blade. The recovered vinyl chloride and base paper can be reused easily. The organic solvent that has penetrated into the base paper can be easily recovered by heating and evaporating.
