titleOfInvention Optical compensation film and liquid crystal display device
abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To obtain an optical compensation film which can improve the viewing angle characteristics with one film and is excellent in mass productivity, and a liquid crystal display device using the same. An optical compensation film used as a viewing angle compensation plate of a liquid crystal display device of optical rotation mode twist nematic type, wherein refractive indices in a film in-plane direction measured with light having a wavelength of 550 nm are nx (slow axis) and ny. (Fast axis), the refractive index in the film thickness direction, which is the direction orthogonal to them, is nz, and the film thickness is d (n m), R = (nx−ny) × d and K = The optical characteristics represented by (nz− (nx + ny) / 2) × d are 0 ≦ R <80 (nm) and −300 <K <−140. In the optical compensation film having a characteristic of (nm), the value defined as the plane orientation parameter is 0.006. An optical compensation film obtained by forming a polymer resin of 5 or more by a solution casting method.
