abstract (57) Abstract: A pressure-sensitive recording medium exhibiting excellent characteristics when applied to an optical character reading (OCR) device having a reading wavelength of 650 to 700 nm. SOLUTION: In a pressure-sensitive recording material utilizing a color development reaction between a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color developing agent, at least one phenoxazine compound represented by the following general formula (1) is used for all dyes. 10 to 50% by weight and a zinc salt of a salicylic acid derivative as a coloring agent, and p- A pressure-sensitive recording material using a novolac resin of phenylphenol in an amount of 10 to 100% by weight based on the zinc salt of a salicylic acid derivative. Embedded image (R 1 to R 4 are each a C 1 to C 4 alkyl group, 5 represents a C 1 -C 4 alkyl group, a C 1 -C 4 alkoxyl group or a halogen atom. m represents an integer of 0 to 3. )
