abstract | (57) Summary An elongated electrode, usually an anode, is provided that is suitable for use in an applied galvanic corrosion protection system. This electrode surrounds a central elongated core (4), usually a metal such as copper, and optionally a metal core, which has a higher resistivity than the core but which is in electrical contact with the core. It comprises a polymer composition (6), a flexible jacket (10), a fabric braid containing granular coke (8) therein and a tension wrap (11) disposed around the flexible jacket. The purpose of this tension wrap (11) is to compress the coke particles more than it would if it were not present. |
