titleOfInvention | Antibody against EGF receptor and antitumor effect thereof |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe present invention relates to agents and methods for treating tumor cells. More specifically, it relates to an antibody against epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) which has been found to exhibit an anti-tumor effect inducing terminal differentiation in tumor cells, especially those characterized by over-forming EGFR. Indeed, these antibodies and their functional equivalents, variants and derivatives are included in the present invention. The antibody may be a murine animal (rat or mouse), but is preferably based on human antibodies or has skeletal and / or constant regions derived from human antibodies. The present invention discloses that fragments of these antibodies (eg Fab) may maintain the properties of intact antibodies. Antibodies are useful, for example, in treating or detecting tumor cells as well as in targeted therapies. |
