titleOfInvention | Alkaline composition for tin immersion coating |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nAlkaline immersion ion coating compositions containing a source of tin ions and an effective amount of an organic chelate forming composition, preferably a sludge inhibitor which is a polyamine, are disclosed. The tin coating composition is free of phosphate compounds, fluoride ions and cyanide. Preferably, the coating composition contains an organic polyhydroxy compound. The invention further relates to a method for coating metallic substrates, especially substrates containing aluminum and aluminum alloys, and also to include tin-rich filling coating compositions. It is an object of the present invention to provide a good tin coating with good adhesion and reduced sludge formation at alkaline pH. |
