Combustion cleansing and cetane number improving diesel fuel supplements |
abstract |
(57) [Summary]nSymmetrical or asymmetrical dialkyl and dicycloalkyl ethers containing a total of 2 to 24 carbon atoms with an oxygen atom attached to the first or second carbon atom but not to the third carbon atom. Or, alkyl-cycloalkyl (polycycloalkyl) ethers are replenishers for diesel fuel that provide cleaner combustion and improve cetane number. The ether replenisher is added in an amount of about 0.5-5% v / v. The cetane number can be further improved by adding 0.05 to 0.5% by weight of an alkyl or dialkyl peroxide compound having 1 to 12 carbon atoms to the alkyl group. |
