titleOfInvention | Composite biological molecule attachment material |
abstract | (57) Summary The composite biological molecule attachment material (10) extracts the desired target biological molecules from the aqueous solution (24) and binds to those molecules substantially permanently. The material (10) is designed to have a first component designed to have a binding affinity for proteins and peptides in such a solution and a binding affinity for nucleic acids in such a solution. And a second component. Material (10) may be formed into a body (12) for passage of such a solution therethrough, and such passage removes proteins, peptides and nucleic acids from such a solution and removes them. It has the effect of binding to the main body. The binding is substantially permanent such that subsequent passage of additional aqueous solution does not substantially release the attached proteins, peptides and nucleic acids. The first component (10 a ) comprises dextran coated (10 a 2 ) activated carbon particles (10 a 1 ), and the second component comprises an anion exchange resin and a cation exchange resin. The preferred relative volume of both components is 1: 1. Methods for extracting desired target biological molecules from an aqueous solution and for substantially permanently binding them to a solid and for filtering target biological molecules from water are also described. There is. |
