abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe tripeptide glycine-proline-glutamine (GPE) can be administered before injury, or usually after injury, to reduce damage to the central nervous system. GPE appears to be particularly, but not exclusively, useful for neuronal rescue within the hippocampus. The benefits of GPE include: (a) is effective by peripheral administration by injection as it crosses the blood-brain barrier; (b) does not appear to challenge the immune system; (c) is inexpensive Yes; (d) its healing ratio is high.
