(57) [Summary]nHigh pulse power electrochemistry comprising an alkali metal-aluminum alloy anode, a nickel anode current collector, a spread mixed metal oxide cathode active material pressed onto a cathode current collector made of aluminum, and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution. The battery is described. The electrolyte solution preferably consists of hexafluorophosphate of at least one ion-forming alkali metal similar to the alkali metal constituting the anode. Lithium is the preferred alkali metal. This battery system produces high current pulses and can be accommodated in a reduced volume casing over conventional electrochemical systems. In addition, the anode / electrolyte solution reduces voltage delay without heat dissipation. |
