titleOfInvention Bovine estrus test method
abstract (57) Summary Disclosed is a system for determination related to the estrous cycle of cattle. The system has an electronic patch (30) worn on the cow. A transmitter module for transmitting estrus boarding behavior data is contained in the pouch of the electronic patch (30). A removable and disposable battery (88) for powering the transmitter module is also housed in the patch. In order to maintain the quality of the transmitted estrus boarding action data signal, the estrus boarding action data from the transmitter module is transmitted to the repeater module (34). The estrus boarding activity data is retransmitted by the relay module (34) to a central receiver module (38) having a memory for storing the estrus boarding activity data. The estrus period boarding action data is downloaded to the computer (42) at the time of request by software which is also used for analysis of the estrus period boarding action data. By analyzing the data of the behavior during the estrus, it is possible to obtain a useful numerical value in determining the optimal time for cattle breeding.
