abstract (57) [Summary] A signature verification method that examines the characteristics of preprocessing and testing the signature input by the operator (204). The feature to be tested is compared with the features of the template signature set (206) to verify whether the template signature has the feature to be tested or not. The test signature is preprocessed to normalize and remove elements that are not relevant to verification (205). The characteristics of the template signature are stored in an associative memory or a data structure (203) having an associative memory function.
