(57) [Summary]nAccording to the present invention, it was discovered that a chimeric receptor consisting of at least a ligand binding site of a member of the steroid / thyroid hormone receptor protein superfamily into which the DNA binding domain of the yeast GAL4 protein has been introduced can form a functional homodimer. Such homodimers can be used, for example, in assays to determine ligands for orphan members of the steroid / thyroid hormone superfamily receptors, specific steroid / thyroid hormone receptors among multiple receptors that respond to a common ligand. It is useful for identifying compounds that are selective for proteins. |
