Inhibition of extracellular matrix synthesis by antisense compounds directed to the nuclear oncogene. |
abstract |
(57) [Summary]nMethods and compounds for inhibiting the synthesis of extracellular matrix proteins are provided. The compounds of the invention comprise antisense oligonucleotides specific for nuclear oncogenes. Preferably, the antisense compounds of the invention are topically administered selected from the group consisting of c-myc and c-myb. The present invention finds use in the treatment of various disorders including sclerosing disorders and restenosis associated with inappropriate synthesis of extracellular matrix proteins, especially collagen. |
