Anti-neoplastic compositions and methods of use thereof |
abstract |
(57) [Summary]nDisclosed are anti-cancer compositions containing chiral monosaccharides and methods using the same. A composition exhibiting cellular embolic and cytotoxic properties for neoplastic cells was formulated using the L-isomer of the monosaccharide. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the L-isomer form is used with a pharmaceutically used carrier. This composition can be used alone or as an adjunct in other forms of cancer treatment. They are useful in combination with all forms of cancer therapies, including surgical, biological and chemical therapies and thermal therapies. In addition to increasing the lethality of neoplastic cells, these compositions can reduce the metabolic activity of tumors and slow growth growth. |
