titleOfInvention | Switching element and manufacturing method thereof |
abstract | (57) 【Abstract】 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fabricate a switching element in which a monomolecular film of an organic molecule exhibiting a switching action by one molecule is sandwiched between electrodes, and the polarity as a rectifying element can be reversed. Provide a switching element having no function. SOLUTION: A gold substrate 2 having a lower electrode 3 is immersed in an alcohol solution of organic molecules represented by the following chemical formulas 1 and then washed with pure alcohol, and organic molecules are vertically aligned on the surface of the substrate 2 on the gold substrate 2. A molecular film is obtained, and the upper electrode 5 is formed on it. The upper and lower electrodes 5, 3 are used as the anode and cathode, respectively, and have high resistance when the potential difference between the electrodes is ≤ 0.5 V, and low resistance when the polarity is reversed. In this state, when the polarities of the upper and lower electrodes 5 and 3 are reversed and a voltage is applied, the polarity as the rectifying element is reversed from the initial state, and the potential difference ≤ 0.5 V, and the upper and lower electrodes 5 and 3 are respectively the anode and cathode. If the polarity is reversed, the resistance becomes high. Next, when the upper and lower electrodes 5 and 3 are respectively used as a cathode and an anode and a voltage is applied, the state returns to the initial state.
