titleOfInvention | Spark plug |
abstract | (57) Abstract: A stable spark discharge is always realized by reducing the voltage required for spark discharge between a pair of electrodes of a spark plug. A spark plug (11) has a ground electrode (17) and a center electrode (18) facing each other with a predetermined gap (16) in between. By supplying a high voltage to both electrodes 17 and 18, Spark discharge occurs between the electrodes 17 and 18. Center electrode 1 8 is an electrode body 20 and a ground electrode 1 in the center electrode 18. 7 and a semiconductor layer 21 provided on the surface facing the same. The electrode body 20 is formed of at least one selected from nickel, platinum, gold and iridium. The semiconductor layer 21 is made of at least one selected from silicon carbide, zinc sulfide, gallium arsenide and lead sulfide. |
