abstract (57) [Abstract] [Problem] If the alkaline storage battery is left unused for a long period of time, the open circuit voltage will drop, and the charge capacity will not be restored to its original discharge capacity unless it is repeatedly charged and discharged for several cycles. There was a problem that the capacity before leaving could not be obtained. SOLUTION: The molar ratio of cobalt to the total of two or more elements selected from at least nickel, cadmium, zinc and lanthanum is 20:80 to 97: 3 on the surface of the nickel porous body having an oxide film. A positive electrode plate for an alkaline storage battery, which comprises a certain cobalt mixed compound and holds an active material mainly composed of nickel hydroxide thereon.
