abstract | (57) Abstract: [PROBLEMS] To provide a method for measuring a microorganism using a DNA- and m-RNA-labeled probe capable of accurately measuring the number and metabolic activity of a microorganism having a specific metabolic function. SOLUTION: A probe specific to the sequences of DNA and m-RNA that synthesizes an enzyme involved in a specific metabolic function of a microorganism is chemically synthesized and fluorescently labeled to obtain a DNA and m-RNA labeled probe. By adding this labeled probe to a sample for hybridization and measuring the fluorescence intensity, the number of microorganisms having a specific metabolic function and the amount of metabolic activity can be measured. In the examples, the microorganisms having a nitrite function were measured by the method of the present invention, and their effectiveness was confirmed. |
