abstract (57) Abstract: A novel quinazoline derivative and an antitumor agent containing the same as an active ingredient. Kind Code: A1 Abstract: Formula (I) (In the formula, A represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and B represents a hydroxymethyl group, an ethyl group having one or two hydroxyl groups, or a propyl group having two or three hydroxyl groups.). A quinazoline derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, and an antitumor agent containing the same as an active ingredient. [Effect] The above compound suppresses the inflow of blood into tumor tissue which is indispensable for the growth of a solid tumor, and exhibits an antitumor effect considered to be based on this action. Therefore, an antitumor agent containing the above compound as an active ingredient is useful as a novel antitumor agent based on a mechanism of action different from the conventional type that directly attacks cancer cells.
