abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To provide a cylindrical battery which is prevented from bursting due to misuse by a user. An electrode group 2 housed in a container 1 and made by spirally winding a positive electrode 3 and a negative electrode 4 with a separator 5 interposed therebetween, and an electrode group 2 arranged in an opening of the container 1. A sealing plate 8 having a gas vent hole 7, a terminal 11 arranged on the sealing plate 8 and having a gas passage hole 10, and a safety valve 9 arranged between the sealing plate 8 and the terminal 11. And an insulating plate 13 arranged on the electrode group 2 in the container 1 and having a hole 14 at a position facing the gas vent hole 7 of the sealing plate 8, and one end of the positive electrode 3 or the negative electrode. 4 and the other end is attached to the lower surface of the sealing plate 8 and has a hole 17 at a position facing the gas vent hole 7. And a strip-shaped tab 16 having an opening.
