(57) Abstract: The catalyst maintains high selectivity from the start of use to the time of deactivation, and requires an expensive post-treatment such as distillation of an aromatic amine condensate using a complicated apparatus. The present invention provides a method for producing an aromatic amine, and a hydrogenation catalyst for a nitroaromatic compound having a higher loading capacity than known catalysts. SOLUTION: A nitro aromatic compound is obtained by bringing about 30 to 6000 equivalents of hydrogen per 1 equivalent of a nitro group into contact with the catalyst on a catalyst in which palladium and lead are supported on a graphite support or a graphite-containing coke support in a gas phase. Is hydrogenated to produce an aromatic amine. |
