Electrodeless discharge lamp |
abstract |
(57) [Abstract] [Problem] In radiation in a fixed direction with a small spatial angle, A low-pressure gas discharge lamp with a continuous spectrum is realized with a higher light intensity, especially in the UV region with the highest light density possible. An electrodeless discharge lamp, particularly a deuterium lamp, has a discharge vessel in which at least two diaphragm openings are formed in a plasma region to form plasma for generating ultraviolet rays by capacitive bunching of a high frequency electromagnetic field. 5 are placed along the optical axis of the diaphragm body 3 and their apertures allow a high ray density of the plasma with a high ray stability in the radiation of a certain direction along the optical axis 4. Light is emitted through one emission window 6 that transmits ultraviolet rays or two emission windows 6 that face each other along the optical axis 4. This lamp is particularly suitable as a light source for analytical measurements, eg spectrophotometers. |
