(57) Abstract: A method for producing a polyester resin having a Gardner color number of 10 or less, which can be suitably used as a resin for white powder coating, in a short time is provided. SOLUTION: When a polyester resin having an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and an aliphatic diol as main constituent components and an intrinsic viscosity of 0.15 to 0.40 is produced, 1.0 × 10 −4 to 8.0 × with respect to 1 mol of all acid components.
