titleOfInvention Method for producing diaryl carbonate
abstract (57) Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a diaryl carbonate having a low content of aryl chloroformate. SOLUTION: In a method for producing a diaryl carbonate by reacting an aromatic monohydroxy compound and phosgene in the presence of an aromatic nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound catalyst, the first step: relative to 1 equivalent of the aromatic monohydroxy compound, A step of reacting 0.44 to 0.5 equivalents of phosgene to produce diaryl carbonate and aryl chloroformate in an equivalent amount or less with respect to the unreacted aromatic monohydroxy compound, the second step: obtained in the first step A process for producing a diaryl carbonate by subjecting a reaction solution to a dehydrochlorination reaction of an aryl chloroformate and an aromatic monohydroxy compound, and a method for producing a diaryl carbonate, which comprises the above-mentioned two-step reaction process.
