abstract | The present invention provides an alkaline storage battery having a high capacity, a high utilization rate of an active material in a nickel positive electrode plate, and a long life which is reliable even at high temperatures. A porous metal substrate is filled with nickel hydroxide having a small particle size as a part of a total amount of an active material requiring a small amount of nickel hydroxide, and hydroxide having a large particle size is provided above and / or outside thereof. Nickel was loaded in the majority of the total active material required. The nickel-based porous substrate contained a small amount of cobalt, and the cobalt hydroxide was present between the active material particles of nickel hydroxide to form a conductive network in the entire electrode plate. |
