(57) [Abstract] [Object] The present invention provides an amino acid sequence of an animal cell invasion polypeptide derived from protozoa, a polynucleotide encoding the polypeptide, and a method for identifying them. [Structure] Protozoa DNA is prepared and cleaved with a restriction enzyme, the cleaved DNA fragment is incorporated into a plasmid, and this is introduced into Escherichia coli to prepare a gene library, and the library is infected with mammalian cells. Then, the Escherichia coli clone invading the cells is separated. Furthermore, the nucleotide sequence of the fragment portion of the DNA of the protozoa of the plasmid of the isolated E. coli clone is determined, and then deduced to identify the amino acid sequence of the intracellular entry polypeptide of the protozoa. |
