abstract (57) Abstract: The present invention relates to a laminated electrophotographic photoreceptor, It is an object of the present invention to provide an electrophotographic photosensitive member which has no image defects, can obtain a high resolution and high image quality, and can be manufactured at low cost and easily. The electrophotographic photoreceptor of the present invention comprises, as a photosensitive layer on a conductive support, an electron transporting layer containing a specific electron transporting material, a charge generating layer containing a specific charge generating material, and a positive electrode. A hole transport layer containing a hole transport material is laminated. Thus, by separating the conventional charge transport layer into the electron transport layer and the hole transport layer and forming the sandwich structure above and below the charge generation layer, the charge transport layer is sandwiched between the conductive support and the charge generation layer. Image defects can be prevented by providing a rectifying function.
