abstract (57) [Summary] (Modified) SOLUTION: An optical recording medium having a recording layer and a reflective layer on a substrate, wherein the recording layer contains a bispyrrole compound represented by the general formula (1). . [In the formula, R 1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and R 2 to R 6 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkylcarbonyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an alkylthio group, an aralkyl group or a halogen atom, and X − represents an anion. [Effect] Recording / reproduction or reproduction is possible with respect to light having a wavelength selected from wavelengths 620 to 690 nm, and CD for light with a wavelength selected from 70 to 830 nm (EN) Provided is an optical recording medium which is compatible and has excellent recording characteristics capable of recording / reproducing or reproducing in accordance with the standard and which is also excellent in light resistance.
