abstract (57) [PROBLEMS] To provide a method and an apparatus for inspecting a pulp liquid capable of accurately detecting impurities in the pulp liquid. In a method of inspecting a pulp liquid for detecting impurities in a pulp liquid flowing through a flow path provided between processing facilities, the pulp liquid is guided to a defoaming means (300), and the defoaming means is used. The bubbles in the pulp liquid are defoamed, the defoamed pulp liquid is guided to the concentration adjusting means (400), the concentration adjusting means adjusts it to a predetermined concentration, and the adjusted inspection liquid is at least a transparent side wall. To the inspection liquid (401) having the above-mentioned structure, by projecting light onto the inspection liquid guided to the inspection unit, and receiving the light transmitted through the inspection liquid through the transparent side wall to form the inspection liquid.
