abstract (57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To obtain an antibacterial agent that is inexpensive and has superior antibacterial properties. SOLUTION: The antibacterial powder comprises a metal element having antibacterial properties in the form of ions or metals near the surface of photocatalyst particles. Further, it is a method for producing an antibacterial powder in which photocatalyst particles containing an alkali metal element are used and the alkali metal element and the metal element having antibacterial properties are replaced by ion exchange. [Effect] The present invention exhibits excellent antibacterial properties due to the antibacterial metal element in the dark, and also has a synergistic effect between the photocatalytic action of titanium oxide and the antibacterial property due to the antibacterial metal element under light irradiation. Shows even better antibacterial properties. In addition, since an inexpensive photocatalyst such as titanium oxide is used as the substrate and the content of the metal element having antibacterial properties is small, it is inexpensive.
