titleOfInvention Developing device
abstract (57) [Abstract] (Correction) [Problem] A small and inexpensive developing device that does not require a toner replenishing mechanism and the like, and sufficiently charges the toner of the developer even when used in a high-speed copying machine. Provided is a developing device capable of A developer blocked by a doctor (6) is moved to a toner replenishing opening (8a) side of a toner hopper (8) by an internal pressure of the developer and its own weight in a developer containing section (developer retaining section). A developing device in which the developer having taken in the toner from the developer is conveyed to the doctor 6 side along the surface of the developing sleeve 4 and the developer on the developing sleeve 4 regulated to a predetermined amount is supplied to a developing area facing the photosensitive drum 1. In, a magnetic toner is used as a toner constituting the developer. Here, it is preferable to have a space (void) in the developer accommodating portion 10 in a state where the toner concentration of the developer reaches the upper limit toner concentration.
