abstract (57) [Summary] (Correction) [Problem] To obtain etoposide compounds in high yield without using harmful halogen solvents and suppressing by-products. SOLUTION: The protected 4'-demethyl-4-epipodophyllotoxin and the protected glucose derivative are added to 1 part by weight of the protective group-added 4'-demethyl-4-epipodophyllotoxin. On the other hand, by reacting with a catalyst in 1 to 7 times by volume of a non-halogen organic solvent, the compound of formula (3) A process for producing etoposides, which comprises obtaining a protected etoposide having a functional group represented by the formula [wherein R 1 and R 2 represent a protective group for a hydroxyl group], and deprotecting it if necessary.
