titleOfInvention Pest repellent material, method for producing the same, and storage container
abstract (57) Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pest repellent material capable of sustaining a repellent effect for a sufficiently long time by gradually evaporating a repellent substance. SOLUTION: Industrial waste after separating clay for ceramics is used, and first, this industrial waste is treated with sulfuric acid to produce solid silicic acid (S1). Subsequently, this solid silicic acid is added to and mixed with the repellent substance (S2). Then, the repellent substance is supported on the solid silicic acid to generate the pest repellent material. As the repellent substance, naphthalene, zinc diethyldithiocarbamate, sym-di-ortho-tolylthiourea, and tetramethylthiiram disulfide were used. Solid silicic acid treated with an acid is extremely porous and has excellent adsorptivity. In the above-mentioned pest repellent material, since the repellent substance is carried on the solid silicic acid, the repellent substance is gradually volatilized.
