To provide a heat-sensitive recording material excellent in blocking property and a method for producing the same. A heat-sensitive recording material comprising a support and a thermosensitive coloring layer containing a leuco dye and a color developer as main components, and a protective layer containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin on the thermosensitive coloring layer. A heat-sensitive recording material comprising a compound containing a methylol group as a cross-linking agent that reacts with a polyvinyl alcohol resin in the protective layer. |
