(57) [Summary] A method for measuring telomerase activity, comprising: (A) 5'tag sequence-1 and a DN consisting of repeating telomere repeat units TTAGGG by telomerase using a telomerase extension primer containing a 3'side synthesis initiation sequence consisting of a repeat sequence of telomere repeat units other than TTAGGG A sequence is extended to the 3'end of the primer to prepare a telomerase product, and (B) the above-mentioned telomerase extension primer and the complementary 5'side tag sequence-2 and telomere repeat unit which are not complementary to the tag sequence-1. A method of amplifying a telomerase product by PCR using a primer containing a 3'-side DNA sequence consisting of a repeat of the sequence CCCTAA. [Effect] The activity of telomerase contained in tissues, blood, etc. can be measured accurately and easily, and the measurement sensitivity and accuracy are remarkably superior to those of the conventional TRAP assay. It can be applied to a large-scale rapid screening system. |
