abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient redistribution method capable of producing an improved polycarbonate material. The polycarbonate composition is redistributed by melt equilibration by using a tetraorganophosphonium hydroxide, preferably tetra- (C 1-6 alkyl) phosphonium hydroxide, as a redistribution catalyst. Such catalysts have a number of advantages including higher redistribution efficiency, reduced coloration of redistribution products, and the ability to be used anhydrous. |
