abstract |
(57) Abstract: A method for directly producing a high-performance discotic liquid crystal material by a simple operation is provided. SOLUTION: One or more kinds of planar condensed ring compounds having 6 or more phenolic hydroxyl groups in one molecule, an acetylating agent and one or more kinds of carboxylic acid compounds having 6 or more carbon atoms are used. By subjecting it to a reaction system to cause an acetylation reaction of a phenolic hydroxyl group and allowing a deacetic acid reaction between the acetyl group obtained by the reaction and a carboxylic acid compound coexisting in the reaction system to proceed in the same reaction system. The product is produced as a discotic liquid crystal material. |
