(57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To provide a bionitrification denitrification method capable of efficiently treating high-salt-concentration wastewater of seawater level or higher, human waste and the like. In treatment of wastewater or human waste, in a step of nitrifying and denitrifying wastewater having a high salt concentration, a salt-tolerant ammonia-oxidizing bacterium FERM BP-4966 belonging to the genus Nitrosomonas is used as the organism.
