(57) [Summary] [Object] To provide an improved method for producing an oxidized starch having a carboxyl group by oxidizing the starch with a peroxide in an aqueous medium in the presence of a catalyst. [Structure] After maintaining the reaction mixture at a temperature above the gelatinization start temperature of starch, it is cooled to a liquid temperature below the gelatinization start temperature, and peroxide is supplied to carry out an oxidation reaction. |
