titleOfInvention Flash lamp
abstract (57) Abstract: To provide a flash lamp provided with an electrode capable of satisfactorily suppressing evaporation of an electron emissive material and accompanying evaporation of quartz even when a high input and a high current are applied. SOLUTION: A pair of cathodes 2 and anodes 3 are arranged at both ends of an arc tube 1, and a trigger wire 4 is arranged on the outer surface of the arc tube 1 so as to extend between these electrodes. The cathode 2 is a flash lamp that intermittently emits light, and is composed of a sintered body made of an electron emissive material and a refractory metal, and has at least a trigger wire 4. A protective member 20 is provided at a portion facing to, and the protective member 20 is made of a metal having a melting point higher than that of the sintered body.
