abstract | (57) An object of the present invention is to provide a single-pass multicolor electrostatographic printer which maximizes multicolor toner transfer efficiency but reduces energy consumption and is suitable for double-sided printing. Is. SOLUTION: A transfer member (94, 96), a drive means (27) for moving the transfer member along a continuous path, and a plurality of different colors for forming a large number of charged toner images on the transfer member. An electrostatic deposition means (106) for simultaneously depositing powder toner images on a transfer member in alignment with each other, and a base material transfer for transferring the base material (28) along a base material path to contact with the transfer member. The means (32, 34, 36) transfers the multi-toner image to at least one surface of the base material, and the multi-toner image on the transfer member is transferred prior to the transfer of the multi-toner image to the base material. Means for heating (109) and means for cooling the transfer member below the glass transition temperature of the toner following transfer of the multiple toner image to the substrate prior to further deposition of the toner image on the transfer member ( 110). |
