titleOfInvention | Toner manufacturing method and encapsulated toner |
abstract | (57) 【Abstract】 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have a special reaction device and a complicated operation of a toner which has sufficient fixability at a low temperature and which also satisfies required toner properties such as offset resistance, developability and storability. The manufacturing method which does not do is provided. SOLUTION: A step of forming polymer fine particles by emulsion polymerization in the presence of an emulsifier containing a nonionic surfactant, Toner base particles and polymer fine particles are mixed in an aqueous medium and heated to a temperature not lower than the clouding point of the nonionic surfactant, preferably a temperature not lower than the glass transition temperature of the polymer fine particles to form a base particle surface. It has a step of adhering the polymer particles and a step of forming the polymer particles adhering to the base particles as a polymer coating layer. The step of forming a film of polymer fine particles adhered to the surface of the base particle is a step of forming a polymer coating layer by removing the solvent after forming a film by allowing the fine polymer particles to absorb a solvent. It may be a step of applying a mechanical impact force or a compression shearing force to the polymer fine particles attached to the surface to form a uniform coating layer. |
