abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To obtain a polyester highly oriented unstretched fiber which has a small change with time and is capable of improving processing stability and passability during false twisting and contributing to improvement of productivity. That is the purpose. More specifically, it is an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a polyester highly oriented undrawn fiber having a stable fiber structure at a spinning speed much higher than the conventional one. SOLUTION: A highly oriented polyester unoriented fiber in which a diffraction peak due to a polyester crystal is recognized by wide-angle X-ray diffraction and a birefringence index due to the polyester is 0.015 to 0.050.
