Substrate for detection of mammalian 5-C-DNA methyltransferase |
abstract |
(57) Abstract: A substrate for selectively detecting mammalian 5-C-DNA methyltransferase in the presence of bacterial 5-C-DNA methyltransferase is provided. A substrate that selectively detects mammalian 5-C-DNA methyltransferase in the presence of bacterial 5-C-DNA methyltransferase, said substrate comprising at least one 5-methylcytosine residue, and Contains oligomeric DNA containing at least one cytosine or 5-fluorocytosine residue, each of which is linked to a guanine residue. The present invention provides a method of measuring the presence of 5-C-DNA methyltransferase, which comprises contacting a sample containing 5-C-DNA methyltransferase with a substrate, and a sample containing 5-C-DNA methyltransferase as a substrate. Contact, 5-C- Also included are methods of inhibiting DNA methyltransferase. |
