abstract (57) Abstract: [PROBLEMS] To introduce a β-1,3 endoglucanase gene into a Zoysia plant and transform it to efficiently produce disease-resistant plants. SOLUTION: A protoplast of a Zoisia plant to be transformed and a plasmid containing the β-1,3 endoglucanase gene are suspended together, and the plasmid is introduced into the protoplast by polyethylene glycol treatment electroporation or the like. After that, a cell clump is formed, an adventitious embryo or adventitious bud is formed from the cell clump thus obtained, and a transformant of a Zoisia plant is regenerated from the adventitious embryo or adventitious bud thus obtained. In addition, if the particle gun method is used, β- By implanting the 1,3 endoglucanase gene together with metal particles, the gene is introduced into the cell clumps to form the cell clumps, and the disease-resistant Zoysia plants are regenerated in the same manner as above.
